American Councils for International Education is currently hiring 2021 summer Resident Director for Indonesian immersion program of the Critical Language Scholarship Program (CLS); see http://www.clscholarship.org for more information about the program). Many members of COTSEAL may be especially interested to know that positions are available to support learners of Indonesian.
Resident Directors are the first-level of support for CLS students for the duration of the program. The Resident Director supports student success by ensuring the health and safety of the participants, helping them to maintain an Indonesian-only language policy, and helping to acclimate them to life in Indonesia.
The Resident Director position is a non-teaching position but requires a high level of Indonesian language. The approximate dates of the program are June to August; Resident Directors also attend a three-day training in May.
We seek individuals who have demonstrated student support experience for undergraduate and/or graduate students, or experience leading or supporting a study abroad or language immersion program. Applications review will begin in January 2021 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
